Norwegian refund for cancellation.
Are you entitled to it? If so, what are the applicable rules?
If your Norwegian flight has been cancelled, you might be eligible for a full refund. Norwegian’s refund policy is not the only factor that determines your eligibility. European Regulation (EC) No 261/2004 outlines the steps that European airlines need to take when cancelling a flight and your rights as a passenger. Norwegian Refund For Cancellation
There are two possible scenarios.
So, let’s start with a question — when was your flight cancelled?
Scenario 1: Flight Is Cancelled Less Than 2 Weeks Before the Trip
You can get: Refund or new flight + compensation (if it’s due to the fault of Norwegian).
Norwegian offers two options if they cancel your flight no more than 14 days before your trip: a full refund or a new flight to your destination. It’s up to you to decide which option is more convenient. If the cancellation was Norwegian’s fault (not something unavoidable), you may also be eligible for compensation.
The refund and compensation must be transferred to your bank account.

Scenario 2: Flight Is Cancelled More Than 2 Weeks Before the Trip
You can get: Refund or new flight to your destination.
If Norwegian cancels your flight more than 14 days before the scheduled departure date, you are not entitled to any compensation from the airline. However, you can choose to receive a refund instead of another flight. Norwegian is obligated to offer you both options and it is up to you to select the one that fits your needs best.
The refund should be paid within 7 days.
It must be transferred to your bank account.

What If You Miss a Connecting Flight Due to Cancellation?
What happens if you miss your connecting flight due to cancellation?
Norwegian will give you a new flight for free, and it may be with a different airline. If your new flight departs on the next day, and you have to wait overnight, you are entitled to a free hotel stay. In addition to that, you are entitled to free meals and beverages.
If you have to wait for your new flight for at least 3 hours, you are entitled to free meal and refreshments, as well as two free forms of communication. Learn more about your rights during a long wait at the airport (“right to care“).
What about flight compensation?
In short – similar rules apply as with flight delays.
You need to check how much later you arrive at your destination compared to the original arrival time. See our guide to Norwegian missed connection compensation.
